SPONSOR TERMS

Last Updated: March 31, 2025

Please read these Sponsor Terms carefully before using the http://www.gocnc.org website or sponsoring any of our Events and activities in pursuit of the GOC Mission (the "Service"), which is operated by the Gastonia Chapter of the Guardians of the Children ("GOC", "GOC Gastonia", "us", "we" or "our"). By establishing a relationship with us as a Sponsor, you agree to the following Sponsor Terms. If you have any questions about these Sponsor Terms, please contact us and we will do our best to help.

1. Interpretation and Definitions

1.1 Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

1.2 Definitions

For the purposes of these Sponsor Terms:

  • "Sponsorship Benefits" refers to a chart of Sponsorship Tiers provided by designated GOC representatives of GOC Gastonia every year. For an updated copy of this chart, please contact us and we will be happy to provide this for you.

  • "Sponsorship Tiers" refers to "Contributor," "Friend," "Bronze," "Silver," "Gold," and "Platinum". These designations are subject to change.

  • "Sponsors" or "Contributors" refers to those who establish a relationship with the GOC via donating the accumulated monetary and/or tangible and/or consumable assets to the GOC during a Sponsorship Period. In the context of these Sponsor Terms, we most often refer to businesses who opt to donate to the GOC. However we may make the occasional exception to private Individuals who may choose to donate as private citizens. Please contact us to discuss details.

  • "Sponsorship Period" refers to the timeframe during which a Sponsor is recognized for their donation. For example, most common Sponsorship Periods may be for the length of one full year, to include any GOC Gastonia hosted Events (typically at least four of them per year).

  • "Event" refers to any GOC-sponsored event as published on the Events page. All other events the GOC may participate in or offer endorsement of are under the oversight of their respective events organizers and are to be considered unrelated to GOC Gastonia's own sponsorship relationships and contracts.

  • "Offensive Content" refers to any content or conduct, presented in any form, that may include but is not limited to the expression of: inappropriate hate speech and discriminatory language or imagery, obscene or vulgar or disruptive language or imagery, content that may advocate any form of illegal activity, behavior that becomes disruptive or intentionally detracts from others' enjoyment of a venue, event, or activity; and any branding that may conflict with the GOC's positive image.

2. Your Company Logo & Name

Depending on your Sponsorship agreement terms, the GOC may promote a Sponsor's company logo and/or company name, along with their website if applicable, or in the case that a Sponsor's company website is not available we may opt to list the Sponsor's online presence on an established directory website such as Yelp, Google, or any other review-type or local business directory website. If in the event we are unable to establish any web based directory appropriate for a Sponsor's business, we will not link any URL at all with that Sponsor's business branding.
While we will attempt to honor the original design of the Sponsor's logo, company name, and website URL, we may alter the aforementioned in order to comply with GOC design standards for the GOC website, GOC social media posts, and GOC print media and apparel. This may include but is not limited to colored logos changed into grayscaled ones, shortened urls ranging from "https://" to "www" prefixes, or no prefixes at all. In some cases, where the size of a logo or the length of  company name text may be limited by the medium of publication, we may be forced to re-size to a more appropriate scale to fit the medium.
The GOC reserves the right to refuse advertising opportunities for any Sponsor branding that may include Offensive Content. For any questions, concerns, or additional arrangements, please contact us.

3. Advertising on GOC Chapter Website & GOC Social Media Pages

GOC Gastonia may offer sponsorship advertising opportunities on this website, here at www.gocnc.org, at our sole discretion. To show our thanks for the highest tiered sponsors, we have reserved limited front-page placement for a select few of our VIP Sponsors. The full list of our Sponsors can be found on the Sponsors page. These opportunities may include but are not limited to: a Sponsor's company website-linked logo or text recognizing the specific sponsor, articles and/or any other type of mention of a Sponsor and their website link, logo, or social media. In addition to the limitations set by the original Sponsors agreement, qualifying Sponsors should generally expect web and social media attributions within 30 business days of the start date of their Sponsorship Period with the GOC.

4. GOC Event Tents

Not all Events will have the proper venues for tents, and those that do may have limited availability based on the venue itself, local laws, codes, and regulations. Please contact us to confirm details before any GOC Event.

5. GOC Trailer

The GOC is fortunate to have a mobile trailer venue from which to sell apparel and other GOC "swag." On occasion, we may have advertising opportunities on this trailer for some of our Sponsors. This is not a guaranteed marketing platform. Please contact us for more details.

6. Sponsor Event Participation

6.1 Sponsor Conduct at GOC Events

Sponsors who are invited by the GOC to participate in GOC Event(s) agree to abide by our Events Code of Conduct and Events Waiver of Liability. Sponsors are held to a higher standard when it comes to the expected treatment of other Event attendees. Sponsors who are invited to advertise, sell, distribute, speak, or present at any of our GOC Events are expected to maintain decorum, avoid aggressive marketing or sales pitches especially to attendees who have made their disinterest clear, avoid collecting private information that attendees are unwilling to share, or otherwise offend GOC Events attendees that may threaten the spirit of our cooperation with a Sponsor's business. Similarly, Sponsors agree not to sell, distribute, or otherwise market materials that may contain Offensive Content.

6.2 Sponsor Deadlines for Event Participation

For all Sponsor agreements that offer any level of Event participation, which may include the addition of Sponsor logos and Sponsor company names on Event banners and other marketing materials, these Sponsorship Benefits are subject to reasonable deadlines for any data or marketing materials required to successfully execute said benefits. The deadline for submissions related to a GOC Event will default to 30 business days prior to the Event Date, unless specific deadlines are explicitly set by a member of the GOC board. This ensures that all sponsors have adequate time to prepare and benefit from participation, and appropriate marketing materials can be sent to the printers and other vendors with enough lead time for a quality experience. Sponsors agree not to hold the GOC liable for failing to meet Sponsorship Benefits promises if the Sponsor fails to submit the required data or materials prior to the deadline before their respective GOC Event. If the Sponsor is unsure of what data or materials may be required, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible.

7. Privacy & Anonymity

While most Sponsorship relationships we establish at the GOC operate with the understanding that Sponsor names, company logos, company websites, etc will be open to publicized marketing opportunities, the GOC respects your privacy. Without prior written agreement and confirmation from the GOC, the Sponsor agrees to hold the GOC free from any and all liability for operating under this assumption. If a Sponsor wishes to opt out of any of our Sponsorship advertising and marketing opportunities, please contact us to make arrangements.

8. Limitations

8.1 Canceled, Rescheduled, or Changes to GOC Events

While the GOC will do its best to honor the Sponsorship agreement, some limitations are to be expected. Canceled, Rescheduled, or otherwise changes made to any GOC Events may result in the GOC's inability to fulfill prior Sponsorship promises including but not limited to: Sponsor Tents, Sponsor VIP Tents, Sponsor Representative speaking opportunities at Events, Logo recognition at Events, the distribution of various print marketing materials at Events, the opportunity for Sponsors to display their own company banner at Events, the opportunity for Sponsors to distribute their own "swag" or other materials at Events. Events typically will include "Rain Days" to accommodate inclement weather situations, however sometimes we simply have limited control over "acts of God." Similarly, internet based marketing opportunities may be limited by server downtimes, disconnected services due to unforeseen circumstances, failure of third party applications, and other IT-related system failures or intermittent or temporary downtimes. Sponsors agree to hold the GOC free from any and all liability for these reasonable limitations.

8.2 The GOC reserves the right to remedy

The GOC reserves the right to resolve any conflicts due to canceled, rescheduled, or changes made to GOC Events that may adversely affect Our ability to fulfill Sponsorship Benefits promises made to Sponsors by offering remedial extensions to Sponsorship Periods. For instance, if an Event gets canceled, the Sponsor will accept the extension of their Sponsorship Period to include an additional future Event past the end date of their original Sponsorship Period as a fair and suitable remedy.

9. Governing Law

The laws of the Country, excluding its conflicts of law rules, shall govern these Sponsor Terms. Sponsors may also be subject to other local, state, national, or international laws.

10. Disputes Resolution

If a Sponsor has any concern or dispute or claim relating in any way to their Sponsorship agreement with the GOC, the Sponsor agrees to first try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting the GOC. We wouldn't be here without our Sponsors, and we will do our best to honor our relationships.

11. Translation Interpretation

These Sponsor Terms may have been translated if We have made them available to You on our Service. You agree that the original English text shall prevail in the case of a dispute.

12. Changes to these Sponsor Terms

We reserve the right, at Our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Sponsor Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will make reasonable efforts to provide at least timely notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change and timely notice will be determined at Our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use Our Service after those revisions become effective, Sponsors agree to be bound by the revised terms. If a Sponsor does not agree to the new terms, in whole or in part, please stop using the Website and the Service.
